Archaeological Technician III provides professional archaeological support for environmental compliance activities associated with electrical transmission lines, substations, and other infrastructure projects throughout the Desert Southwest Region. This position performs archaeological surveys, excavations, cultural resource documentation, artifact processing, and field support while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and agency regulations. The technician works independently on routine assignments while supporting project archaeologists and field supervisors during all phases of cultural resource investigations.

Duty Station: Phoenix, AZ
Perform archaeological field investigations, including excavation of shovel test pits (STPs), test units, and cultural features.
Document archaeological sites through mapping, measurements, photography, and field notes with minimal supervision.
Process recovered artifacts through washing, cataloging, labeling, marking, and preliminary analysis.
Support project supervisors with logistics, graphics, writing, field preparation, and travel coordination.

Required Skills/Abilities
Skill in identifying prehistoric and historic artifacts, cultural features, soils, and stratigraphy.
Ability to comply with all safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow federal, agency, and environmental regulations
Education and Experience:
Bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods.
