Duties
- Safely operate dump trucks, including manual transmission models, to transport materials to various job sites or disposal locations
- Load and unload freight using dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or other specialized equipment with precision and care
- Follow designated routes for route driving assignments, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels
- Assist with the operation of auxiliary equipment such as forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading materials
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, and inspection reports for compliance and safety purposes
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate schedules and address any operational issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred
- Proven truck driving experience, particularly with dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or roll-off trucks in freight or construction settings
- Familiarity with different trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and freight containers
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts or hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy vehicle operation and material handling
- Strong understanding of route planning and adherence to delivery schedules
- Physical ability to perform routine inspections and handle heavy loads safely
