Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Interior Trim Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing interior trim and woodwork in residential and commercial projects. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from custom cabinetry to intricate molding, all while maintaining safety and efficiency on-site.
Duties
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute trim installations.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install interior woodwork including baseboards, crown molding, door casings, window trims, and custom millwork.
- Use hand tools and power tools for woodworking with precision and safety awareness.
- Fabricate custom wood components using woodworking machines and fabrication techniques to meet project specifications.
- Ensure proper installation of fixtures such as doors, cabinets, and hardware while adhering to building codes and safety standards.
- Perform finishing work including caulking, sanding, staining, painting, or sealing to achieve a polished look.
- Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an interior trim carpenter with a strong portfolio of residential or commercial projects.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction plans accurately; familiarity with schematics is a plus.
- Skilled in using hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools for woodworking (drills, sanders, nail guns).
- Knowledge of woodworking machines such as table saws, planers, routers, and CNC equipment for fabrication purposes.
- Experience with framing carpentry, metal stud framing, drywall installation, plastering or stucco work is advantageous.
- Understanding of construction estimating processes; capable of assessing material needs and project scope.
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols including power tool safety standards.
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Valid experience in construction site environments with knowledge of building codes related to interior finishes.
