Boutique Personal Injury Law Firm in the heart of downtown Alton is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting attorneys through all phases of the litigation lifecycle, from inception through trial and appeal. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and organize large volumes of documents, including pleadings, discovery, and trial exhibits.
- Draft and prepare various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence.
- Assist with all phases of discovery, including propounding and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
- Coordinate and prepare for depositions, including scheduling, preparing exhibits, and summarizing transcripts.
- Assist with trial preparation, including drafting witness lists, exhibit lists, and trial binders.
- Electronically file documents with various courts (state and federal).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and litigation calendars.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendors.
- Summarize deposition transcripts, and other case-related documents.
- Support attorneys during hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Qualifications
- Associates in Paralegal Studies or 1-2 years experience as a paralegal.
- Experience in personal injury, medical malpractice, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, treatment processes, and common conditions.
- 1-2 yrs of prior litigation experience; trial experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of court rules, filing procedures, and litigation workflows.
- Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work extended hours during trial periods.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
