Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is seeking skilled and motivated Field Service Technicians for a direct-hire opportunity with a client based out of Duffield, VA. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys traveling to customer sites and representing the company while performing installations, repairs, and warranty work. The ideal candidate is self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
Position Overview:
As a Field Service Technician, you will travel to customer locations to perform installations, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with customer requests and warranty requirements. You’ll work with electrical systems, construction components, and mechanical equipment while ensuring quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel weekly to customer sites; may be away up to three (3) weeks at a time
- Interpret engineering drawings, electrical control prints, and schematics
- Perform electrical and carpentry-related work according to specifications
- Hook up power and control systems per prints and schematics
- Follow framing construction standards and best practices
- Operate power equipment including battery-operated hand tools, power saws, crimping tools, scarifiers, and air tools (including sprayers)
- Install air conditioning equipment, cable ladder systems, hoods, battery systems, waveguide entries, halo ground systems, and other grounding systems
- Hang, repair, assemble, and paint doors and install locks and hardware
- Complete framing, sheathing, trim work, and floor tile installation as required
- Perform minor concrete repairs and apply concrete coatings and finishes
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues with limited standardization
- Complete other duties as assigned by management to meet customer agreements and requirements
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Knowledge and experience in:
- Must have experience with electrical work and wiring standards
- HVAC systems
- Framing and finishing (preferred)
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks under varying conditions
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers
- Ability to understand and follow verbal, written, and diagram-based instructions
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Rate: $20–$38 per hour (based on experience) + per diem
- Benefits: Full benefits package offered after 90 days of employment
