Job Description
This is a year round position! We are looking for more swim instructors for our Fall 2026 Semester that are able to stay with us year round at our indoor pool.
We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and safety-focused Swim Instructors to join our aquatics team. Instructors will teach American Red Cross swim lessons to participants of various ages, abilities, and skill levels. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and adults, are confident in the water, and are passionate about teaching water safety and swimming skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach American Red Cross swim lessons in accordance with program standards and lesson plans
- Ensure the safety of all participants during lessons and other classes
- Maintain class organization, attendance, and skill progression records
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding swimmer progress and goals
- Set up and break down class equipment as needed
- Enforce pool rules and safety procedures at all times
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow facility protocols
- Represent the program professionally and positively at all times
- Maintain a clean and well organized work environment performing opening or closing procedures as required each shift
Qualifications
- Lifeguarding with CPR/ AED and First Aid Certification required
- Experience teaching or coaching swim or other sports programs preferred
- Strong swimming ability and comfortable in deep water
- Knowledge of all swim strokes and swim technique
- Ability to work with children, adults, and families; as well as students on the spectrum or students with special needs
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
