Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake components on various heavy equipment and vehicles
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment adjustments
- Fabricate parts and components using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet repair specifications
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, HVAC units, and other complex machinery
- Conduct heavy lifting and precise assembly or disassembly of equipment for repairs or upgrades
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during maintenance activities to promote a safe working environment
Skills
- Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment background
- Strong mechanical knowledge of multiple diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and automotive diagnostics
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; proficient with power tools and hand tools
- Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service, brake repair, suspension work, HVAC servicing, and wheel alignment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members
