Overview
TCNS is seeking a passionate and dedicated staff to join our growing teaching team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. Staff will implement engaging lesson plans and activities that promote learning through play while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities to promote learning.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction among children.
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a respectful and orderly classroom.
- Assist with regular assessments of children's progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with parents regarding their child's development, progress, and any concerns.
- Promote physical education through structured gross motor activities and outdoor play.
- Collaborate with other educators in a team setting to create an integrated curriculum that supports childhood development.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
Requirements
- Experience working with young children in group settings is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
- Familiarity with play-based learning or similar educational philosophies is a plus.
- Proven skills in classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to create engaging activities that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Experience in toddler care is beneficial for understanding the needs of younger preschoolers.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with OCFS licensing regulations is beneficial.
