We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Foreman to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the full scope of field work for our commercial electrical projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and electrical codes, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC). Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of 2-6 team members working on site on a variety of commercial electrical contractor projects. Jobs scaling from $25K to $2M and anywhere from a few days to 8 months.
- Responsible for scheduling, training, and managing all on-site work for the team that you're managing.
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in accordance with blueprints and schematics.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute electrical installations.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete wiring tasks on construction sites or existing facilities.
- Conduct testing of electrical circuits using tools such as ohmmeters and ammeters to ensure proper functionality.
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems while adhering to safety protocols and electrical standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and compliance records.
- Collaborate other trades to coordinate installation activities effectively.
- Follow all safety procedures related to construction site work and electrical systems to prevent accidents or hazards.
- Assist in reading construction plans and schematics to accurately implement electrical layouts.
- Ensure all work complies with local codes such as NEC regulations for safe electrical practices.
Skills
- Experience as a foreman managing a team of electricians. Minimum of 2 years previous foreman experience.
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction drawings, and technical manuals accurately.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety protocols and hazard prevention.
- Familiarity with testing instruments such as ohmmeters, ammeters, and multimeters for diagnosing electrical issues.
- Strong understanding of NEC regulations governing electrical installations in various environments.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments requiring precise execution.
