Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Cook to oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure our residents receive well-balanced meals. This role is perfect for someone who has a passion for cooking, enjoys working with seniors, and thrives in a leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and dietary guidelines
- Supervise kitchen staff and delegate tasks effectively
- Ensure meals meet quality, portion, and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with health regulations
- Monitor inventory, place orders, and control food costs
- Accommodate special diets (low sodium, diabetic, texture-modified, etc.)
- Ensure timely meal service and positive dining experiences
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook in a healthcare, assisted living, or similar setting preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation regulations
- Ability to follow therapeutic and modified diet plans
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Passion for working with seniors and creating enjoyable dining experiences
