Position Summary:
This position provides administrative support to loan officers as well as the servicing of installment, consumer, mortgage and commercial loans, and back-up for other essential department functions as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer/greet and refer incoming calls/individuals to appropriate person(s) or department while representing Dairy State Bank in a pleasant, professional, empathetic and efficient manner.
- Answer customer inquiries about loan information in person and by telephone.
- Process loan payments, credit requests or loan advances and any other type of loan transaction. Train Teller staff to accurately post loan payments.
- Process paid loans and prepare satisfaction documents in an accurate and timely manner.
- Understand and process transactions according to HMDA and other regulatory requirements, as applicable.
- Boards new loans to host system. Review loans and maintenance from prior day for accuracy.
- Order appraisals and title commitments. Gathers preliminary loan information including employment and deposit verifications or any other documentation at request of lender.
- May process Credit Card payments (on a rotational basis uses WebDirector and the Elan credit card platform to process credit card payments)
- May maintain loan escrow, processes disbursements for homeowners insurance and property taxes, handles annual escrow analysis, performs monthly PMI billings, etc.
- Prepare loan documentation including typing correspondence and loan documents promptly and accurately. Proofread for correct content, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Prepare loan computations and ratios.
- Maintain and organize loan files, disburse loan proceeds, order payment coupon booklets etc. Track and follow up on pending items.
- Prepare a variety of periodic loan reports for review by management and regulatory authorities. Prepare floor plan billings, board new floor plan units, process incoming wire transactions for participation loan payments and other administrative duties as needed.
- Prepare various statements for customers and other departments.
- Work with the department team to provide exceptional customer service and perform other duties/tasks that may be assigned or needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requirements include high school diploma or equivalent. An Associate degree or higher in Finance or other related field is preferred. Previous banking experience preferred. Intermediate computer skills (Word & Excel), typing, 10 key and math skills are required. Excellent customer service and the ability to accurately perform a variety of tasks with frequent interruptions is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a respect for confidentiality and professional demeanor are all expectations.
