SUMMARY
Directs the activities of the production departments in the plant, including managing department supervisors. Responsible for company compliance on all governmental agency and insurance rules and regulations as they affect staff safety and plant operations. High involvement in policy and procedure development. The Manufacturing Manager must demonstrate leadership and a cooperative sense of urgency by pursuing improvements and change while accomplishing the tasks as outlined in the SOP procedures.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS include the following. Other duties may be assigned in or outside of the regular work area.
- Manages supervisors in Fabrication, Welding, Paint, Final Assembly, Shipping, Model Shop, and Maintenance in compliance with EEO.
- Works in cooperation with Production Control and Human Resources to determine staffing and overtime requirements as they apply to production.
- Enforces all company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for MPCA and EPA compliance in supervising hazardous waste management.
- Administer recycling and waste disposal policy and procedures.
- Works in cooperation with the Accounting Manager to ensure insurance compliance for the facility and vehicles.
- Serves as OSHA Compliance Officer and attends safety committee meetings.
- Works in cooperation with Human Resources and supervisors to schedule plant, forklift, and supervisor training.
- Coordinates lent tool, equipment, and facility use program.
- Verifies service and Capital equipment invoices for reasonable cost and satisfactory completion.
- Planning long range for equipment and facility upgrades.
- Recommend improvements and changes in capital, people, processes, and equipment that increases productivity.
- Develop policies and goal setting for Mercury Minnesota, Inc.
- Works with the supervisors to oversee shop floor department activities and execution of the production schedule as delivered from Production Control.
- Maintain company culture through positive mentoring and resolve grievances through disciplinary action, in collaboration with supervisors and management when required.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be comfortable working with computers (Excel and Microsoft Office Suite).

- Formal training in ISO, Continuous Improvement, LEAN, and 5S

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required. 10 years of manufacturing and/or management experience, or adequate combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, with an excellent command of the English language. Superior oral and written communication skills.

Hours: Monday-Thursday 5am-3:30pm
Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
