Expectations, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities
● Adhere to A+ policies
● Arrive on time and appropriately dressed
● Be in the classroom ready to begin the day at scheduled start time
● Demonstrate warmth and understanding in behavior management
● Address behavior challenges by communicating desired behaviors using positive language
● Develop secure and loving relationships with children
● Demonstrate a willingness to experiment with different “languages” during daily routines
● Assist in providing for all areas of a child’s development
● Assist in providing a developmentally appropriate and nurturing environment for children
● Assist in implementing daily activities to provide multiple opportunities for inquiry,
problem-based learning
● Assist the lead-teacher in keeping the app updated (posting at least 4 photos per child per
day as specified in the app expectations sheet.)
● Assist the lead-teacher in establishing classroom routines
● Maintain a clean environment and use proper sanitization procedures
● Report all accidents and incidents verbally and in writing to parents and the HR Director
● Participate in on-going in-service and educational development trainings (15 hours per year)
● Ensure the safety and well-being of all the children
● Help maintain current and accurate records on all children
● Strong written and oral communications skills
● Assist teachers in collecting samples of child’s work for meeting with parents and sharing
their progress
