Cardiovascular Technologist – Methodist Richardson Medical Center
At Methodist Health System, our cardiovascular teams play a critical role in delivering advanced, compassionate care. As a Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS) in the Cath Lab, you will assist physicians with invasive cardiovascular procedures and support patient care throughout the diagnostic and interventional process.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced cardiac team while contributing to high-quality cardiovascular care in a collaborative clinical environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will:
- Assist physicians with invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab.
- Function as a monitor technologist, interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmias and EKG rhythms.
- Operate physiologic monitoring and imaging equipment during procedures.
- Assist as a scrub technologist during cardiovascular procedures.
- Support circulator duties, including monitoring patient status and assisting the care team during procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including patient prep and sterile field setup.
- Monitor patient condition during procedures and assist with post-procedure recovery.
- Remove arterial and venous sheaths and maintain hemostasis following procedures.
- Troubleshoot cath lab equipment and ensure equipment readiness.
- Maintain cath lab inventory, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist with transporting patients to and from the department.
- Support orientation and training of students and new staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or equivalent healthcare experience
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- RCIS certification within 6 months of hire
Alternative Certification Path
- ARRT certification and Texas RT(R) license accepted in lieu of RCIS
WORK SCHEDULE
- Day shift (10-hour shifts)
- Monday–Friday
