Experienced CDL-A drivers can run a consistent local schedule moving loaded and empty trailers between Arlington and Grand Prairie, Texas. This dedicated position offers daily home time, a regular Monday-through-Friday afternoon shift, and no-touch drop-and-hook freight.
Drivers are paid $29.98–$30.98 per hour, with overtime available after 40 hours. A Hazmat endorsement and at least one year of recent tractor-trailer experience are required.
Pay and Schedule
- Hourly pay: $29.98–$30.98
- Overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular rate after 40 hours
- 3% annual pay increase
- Average 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday
- Shift: 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- Occasional weekend work

This is a consistent afternoon-shift position. Drivers should be available for the regular Monday-through-Friday schedule as well as occasional weekend work when needed.
Local Route and Freight
The work consists of moving customer and vendor trailers between Arlington and Grand Prairie.
Freight is 100% no-touch and drop-and-hook. Drivers move both loaded and empty trailers, allowing the position to remain focused on local trailer movement rather than freight unloading.
Regular responsibilities include:
- Transporting loaded and empty trailers between designated locations
- Completing required pre-trip inspections
- Hooking and unhooking trailers
- Opening and closing trailer doors
- Properly placing wheel chocks
- Safely entering and exiting the yard tractor throughout the shift
- Maintaining regular and predictable attendance
Because this position involves frequent trailer moves, drivers should be comfortable getting in and out of the tractor repeatedly throughout the workday.
Physical Requirements
The position includes hands-on equipment duties in addition to driving.
- Opening and closing trailer doors may require approximately 46 pounds of force
- Hooking and unhooking trailers may require approximately 90 pounds of force
- Frequent bending is required when placing wheel chocks
- Drivers may enter and exit the yard tractor 100 or more times during a shift
Applicants should be able to safely perform these essential functions throughout the scheduled workday.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Hazmat endorsement required
- At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must live within the approved 75-mile hiring radius
- No reckless-driving convictions within the past 5 years
- No DUI convictions within the past 5 years
- No license suspensions or revocations within the past 5 years
- No preventable DOT-recordable accidents within the past 3 years
- No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
- No serious moving violations within the previous 12 months
Serious violations include driving 15 mph or more above the speed limit, following too closely, improper passing, or a traffic offense committed in a commercial motor vehicle in connection with a fatality.
