The Training Specialist plays a key role in the execution and maintenance of department systems, annual budgets, vendor contracts, and supports the annual General Managers’ Conference.
The Training Specialist is a support for the Field Training team by maintaining planning tools, tracking progress, and reporting out on all training metrics and systems.

Responsibilities
-
Support the selection, onboarding, and training of new PDD staff members and AFTMs.
-
Assist in writing the Annual Operating Plan for PDD and AFTMs.
-
Maintain monthly credit card reconciliation and processing of invoices. Support department with monthly P&L reconciliation and maintains PDD declining checkbook.

Negotiate initial contracts with vendors for training supplies, guest speakers, teambuilding activities and special events to conform to budget. Research alternative vendors and provides cost cutting ideas on an annual basis.

Assist with Requests For Proposals (RFPs) for potential vendors.

Maintain management recognition programs – awards given to managers advancing their careers.

Maintain alcohol awareness and food safety compliance programs and distributes ServSafe materials to restaurants and AFTMs.

Maintain department contacts, personnel files and handles a variety of personal and confidential information requiring good judgment and discretion.

Assist with Department Communications with the Operations Communications Team.

Support with research, scheduling, logistics and executing large scale Training Events, including CFI and the General Managers’ Conference.

Select, manage and coach interns, temporary and contract staff on an “as needed” basis for special events and project work, like the GM Conference.

Manage Commitment to Excellence Program – including the nomination and selection process, and the annual winner’s trip.

Coordinate DT Rewards Grand Prize Winner annual trip.

Support Area Field Training Managers (AFTMs) with:
-
Weekly and Monthly reports, training metrics and systems (ServSafe DSAs, etc).

Tracking K/MIT Contacts.
-
Travel Arrangements and Calendars.
-
Tracking of compliance regulations by restaurant.

Quarterly Bonus Plan Calculations,
-
Quarterly Meeting Support – both onsite and offsite.
-
Annual Performance Evaluations.
-
Coach AFTMs, as needed, when administrative performance standards are not being met.
Qualifications
-
2+years experience working in Instructional Design
-
Ability to provide “world class” service to our internal and external guests.
-
Proficiency in MS Office. and Adobe programs.

Strong Organizational And communication skills
-
Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments
-
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships at all organizational levels.

Proven ability to negotiate contracts.
-
Willingness to travel.
What we prefer:

2+years experience working in Instructional Design focus on eLearning platforms
-
Restaurant Background Preferred or Similar Work Experience in Hospitality
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
