What you’ll need to excel:
- Valid Professional Educator Certification
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited college or university
- Thorough understanding of laws and regulations concerning special education and services for children with disabilities
- Familiarity with pediatric and adolescent cognitive and physical development, including assessment tools relevant to diagnosing disabilities
- Ability to compile, interpret, and analyze data; skill in applying relevant policies and laws
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred credentials:
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP)
- ABSESPA Licensure
In this school setting, you’ll provide on-site services—remote or virtual work is not available. Your caseload and daily assignments will be based on current district needs, allowing you to make a difference where it’s most valuable. You’ll assess, diagnose, and treat students, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and help develop and implement IEPs.
