Job Title: Banquet Sous Chef
Reports To: Executive Chef & Sous Chef
Location: Transit Lanes
Position Summary:
Transit Lanes is seeking a skilled and dependable Banquet Chef to support and execute high-quality food service for our full service restaurant, private events, and group functions. This role is primarily focused on banquet operations, ensuring timely preparation, presentation, and consistency of all menu items while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute banquet menus for events of varying sizes, from small gatherings to large functions
- Coordinate with management and event staff to ensure seamless food service and timing
- Maintain consistency in food quality, portioning, and presentation
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety standards
- Oversee banquet setup, including prep, plating, and breakdown
- Support daily kitchen operations as needed, including line cooking during non-event times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workspace
- Assist in training and guiding kitchen staff to uphold standards
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a banquet, catering, or high-volume kitchen environment preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
