Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Mechanic to join our manufacturing facility team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of industrial equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Your expertise will help keep production running smoothly, minimize downtime, and uphold safety standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong mechanical background with experience in industrial maintenance and electrical systems.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using precision measuring instruments, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Conduct welding (including <LOCATION>-specific welding standards) and other fabrication tasks to repair or modify machinery components.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems involving low voltage, high voltage, industrial electricians’ experience, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other analysis tools.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, maintenance history, and inventory management.
- Operate field service equipment such as scissor lifts and forklifts safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas.
- Collaborate with technical sales teams to provide customer service support by diagnosing issues and recommending solutions.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols related to high-voltage systems, HVAC/R units, welding procedures, and other industrial standards.
Experience
- Proven industrial mechanic experience within a manufacturing facility environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, hydraulic systems, HVAC/R systems, and precision measuring instruments.
- Experience working with CMMS software for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Electrical experience including low voltage wiring, troubleshooting using ammeters and ohmmeters, with knowledge of high voltage safety procedures.
- Skilled in welding techniques adhering to <LOCATION>-specific standards; experience in field service operations is preferred.
- Background in industrial electrician work or military technical roles is advantageous.
- Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex mechanical or electrical issues quickly and accurately.
