Lorien Bel Air is seeking a dedicated and organized Unit Secretary to join our healthcare team. This position plays a vital role in supporting patient care operations by providing administrative support, coordinating communication, maintaining patient records, and assisting with unit organization.
The ideal candidate has strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail, proficiency with computer systems, knowledge of HIPAA regulations, and preferably holds a CNA I / Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) license. Compensation

Responsibilities
As a Unit Secretary, you will:
- Coordinate daily administrative functions within the nursing unit
- Schedule appointments, consultations, and healthcare services
- Organize, maintain, and update patient medical records and files
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
- Answer and direct phone calls, messages, and inquiries
- Facilitate communication between residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, and other departments
- Enter and maintain accurate documentation in electronic systems
- Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer documentation
- Prepare reports, forms, and correspondence as needed
- Support unit operations to help ensure efficient resident care delivery
- Maintain organized records and office supplies
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families, visitors, and staff
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) license preferred
- Previous healthcare administrative, medical secretary, receptionist, or unit secretary experience preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare confidentiality requirements
- Knowledge of Point Click Care; PCC EMR System
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented healthcare environment
- Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy and professionalism
