Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Coatings Applicator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying protective and decorative coatings to a variety of surfaces and components, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet safety and durability standards. Your expertise in industrial painting, use of hand tools, and materials handling will contribute to the efficient production of top-tier products. Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal coating adhesion.
- Apply coatings using airless paint spraying equipment, brushes, rollers, or other power tools with precision and consistency.
- Operate forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment safely to handle materials and move components as needed.
- Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify coating thickness and surface quality.
- Follow safety protocols related to industrial painting, auto body repair techniques, and materials handling.
- Maintain clean work areas and proper storage of paints, solvents, and tools in compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to ensure coatings are applied accurately during various stages of production.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with industrial or construction painting techniques, including auto painting and auto body repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and airless paint sprayers.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as lean manufacturing principles and machining operations.
- Warehouse experience including forklift operation, crane handling, and materials management.
- Basic math skills for measuring coatings and calculating coverage areas.
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques and the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work safely with welding equipment, auto body repair tools, and in environments requiring the use of hand tools and power tools.
