Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant/Registered Dental Assistant (DA/RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care while supporting the clinical operations of our busy dental practice. Duties
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, and pediatric treatments, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and arranging dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Take dental radiographs (X-ray), including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and safety standards.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding.
- Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintain dental equipment functionality and perform routine sterilization procedures in accordance with infection control standards.
- Implement four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatment.
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant license or certification required.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures.
- Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix is a plus.
- Strong understanding of dental x-ray procedures, oral surgery assistance, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry practices.
- Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control expertise.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies.
