Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Manager is a hands-on leader with experience in chemicals and packaging. This function leads the quality function across Great Innovations' full product portfolio, spanning specialty chemical formulations and patented electromechanical HVAC and septic devices. This person builds, owns, and continuously improves the company's quality management system and is responsible for product quality from incoming materials through in-process control and finished goods. The role oversees supplier and contract manufacturer quality, drives root cause analysis and corrective action, and ensures every product meets internal standards, regulatory requirements, and retail partner expectations. It is a hands-on leadership role suited to a quality professional who can set strategy and also work directly on the floor and with suppliers to resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and continuously improve the quality department and the company's quality management system across all product lines.
- Establish quality standards, specifications, and inspection criteria for chemical products, container packaging, corrugate display structural design integrity and electromechanical devices.
- Conduct and Evaluate Accelerated Life Cycle performance & shelf-life efficacy of finished goods for chemical, packaging components and corrugate durability.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of suitable or incompatible chemical and packaging combinations to ensure highest quality standards for product performance and packaging.
- Manage incoming inspection, in-process control, and finished goods inspection and release.
- Oversee supplier and contract manufacturer quality, including qualification, audits, scorecards, and corrective action for co-packers and electronics manufacturers.
- Lead investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) for nonconformances and quality issues.
- Manage customer complaints, field returns, and warranty analysis, and translate findings into product and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and safety standards, labeling accuracy, and product safety certifications.
- Verify chemical product quality through batch testing, certificates of analysis, fill weight control, and stability monitoring.
- Partner with the Project Engineer on new product validation, and launch readiness, including first article and production part approval style reviews.
- Develop, track, and report quality metrics and key performance indicators to executive leadership.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methods such as statistical process control, FMEA, and lean principles.
- Hire, train, develop, and manage quality staff as the department grows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or similar.
- Minimum of 7 years of quality experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, including team leadership or management.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and quality tools, including CAPA, root cause analysis, FMEA, and statistical process control.
- Experience managing supplier and contract manufacturer quality, including audits.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and safety requirements relevant to consumer products, Safety Data Sheets, and labeling.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach.
- Willingness to work on-site in Miramar, Florida, with occasional travel to manufacturing and supplier sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background with packaging components and durability testing.
- Background or hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing, with electronics or electromechanical manufacturing experience a plus.
- Familiarity with product safety certification processes for chemical and electronics products.
- Experience meeting the quality and compliance requirements of major retailers such as The Home Depot, Lowe's, or Amazon.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
