American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/OB position requiring an active IL RN license and at least 1 year of L&D, postpartum, and level 2 nursery experience.

Acute care setting in an 80-bed hospital's OB unit
-
Unit includes 4 LDRP rooms, 3 postpartum rooms, and 1 delivery/procedure room with 7 beds plus 1 overflow room
-
Patient population includes antepartum, high-risk L&D, level 2 nursery, and clean gyne surgical patients
-
Nurse to patient ratio follows AWHONN staffing guidelines for patient acuity, generally 1:1 for labor and 1:3 for postpartum

Unit practices baby friendly care

RN will work Antepartum and Postpartum assignments
-
No scrub or circulate duties for C-sections
-
Uses EPIC (Community Works) charting system
-
12-hour night shifts
-
36 guaranteed hours per week
-
Floating may be required to other departments such as med surg or emergency during surge situations, in rotation with permanent staff
-
13-week assignment length
-
Active IL RN license required
-
BLS and NRP certifications required
-
EFM competency required
-
Minimum of 1 year of experience required, 2+ years preferred
-
L&D, postpartum, and level 2 nursery experience required
-
EPIC EMR experience required
-
Negative drug screen required for all panels
-
Provide nursing care across antepartum and postpartum patients within a baby-friendly OB unit
-
Orientation consists of 3 days of on-unit learning with 12-hour shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a)

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Ideal candidates are dependable, positive, and motivated

Local rate applies to clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility
