CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE
Classification - Hourly Non-Exempt
Reports to - Director of Nursing
Summary/Objective
In keeping with our organization’s goals, the primary purpose of the CNA is to deliver quality daily routine nursing care to residents requiring short-term, skilled, and long-term nursing care, as directed by the supervisor, the facility’s policies and procedures, and good nursing judgment.
Job Duties
- Provide direct nursing care, under direct supervision/direction of a nurse, in accordance with federal and state regulations, facility policies and procedures, and prudent nursing judgment
- Perform resident care duties as assigned by charge nurse, including but not limited to transporting and transferring, restocking resident room, changing linen, properly positioning resident, bathing, assisting with bowel and bladder needs, assisting with dressing, assisting with eating and hydration, taking vital signs, and caring for resident as needed or directed
- Document tasks performed in accordance with organization policies and procedures
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active certification to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Texas
- 2 years’ experience in Long-Term Care preferred
- Must be able to demonstrate leadership, organizational skills, and maintain a positive and professional attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Ability to engage in active listening (giving full attention to those speaking), critical thinking (using logic and reasoning to identify strengths/weaknesses of alternative solutions), and active learning (understanding implications of new information during problem-solving situations)

Work Environment and Physical Demands
This position generally will require physical activity. It may at times require walking to various locations within a facility. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and may require some use of machinery consistent with the job duties.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position at times requires the ability to walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and lift as necessary.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
