SEO & GEO Specialist Search Engine Optimization + Generative Engine Optimization
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a forward-thinking SEO & GEO Specialist who doesn't just follow trends — they see where things are going before everyone else does. This is not a traditional SEO role.
We need someone who understands the full evolution of search — from Google to AI-powered platforms — and knows how to position our brand to win in both. If you are still only thinking about Google rankings, this role is not for you. We need someone who understands that the next frontier of search is inside the LLMs — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini — and has a strategy to get us there.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies across English-language markets
- Build and implement GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategies to position our brand inside AI-powered platforms including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google Gemini
- Optimize content to rank on Google, Bing, and emerging AI search platforms
- Stay ahead of algorithm updates and shifts in search behavior — both traditional and AI-driven
- Conduct deep keyword and topical research to identify opportunities across the full search landscape
- Optimize for AI Overviews and featured snippets in Google Search
- Create and optimize content that AI models cite, reference, and surface in responses
- Build topical authority through structured, entity-based content strategies
- Implement technical SEO best practices — site architecture, schema markup, Core Web Vitals, crawlability
- Monitor and analyze performance across all platforms using GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush or similar tools
- Collaborate with content, paid media, and web teams to align SEO and GEO with overall marketing strategy
- Develop and maintain a brand presence that LLMs recognize, trust, and cite as an authoritative source
- Stay current on GEO best practices and test new approaches as the space evolves
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years of SEO experience with demonstrated results
- Deep understanding of traditional SEO fundamentals — technical SEO, on-page optimization, off-page strategy, and link building
- Proven knowledge of GEO and LLM optimization — you understand how AI models pull, weight, and cite information and you have a strategy to influence that
- Strong understanding of E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) and how to build it across a brand
- Experience building topical authority and entity-based SEO strategies
- Proficient in GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush or comparable tools
- Ability to write, optimize, and brief content that performs in both traditional search and AI-generated responses
- Strategic thinker who can connect SEO and GEO efforts to broader business and brand goals
- Self-starter mentality — you follow industry leaders, you test things yourself, and you are not waiting to be told what is coming next
- Strong communicator who can translate complex SEO and GEO concepts into clear strategies for non-technical stakeholders
BONUS POINTS
- Experience with surrogacy, fertility, or healthcare SEO — niche, high-trust, high-stakes content
- Understanding of how different AI platforms weight and source content differently
- Experience optimizing for voice search and AI assistants
- Familiarity with structured data, schema markup, and knowledge graph optimization
- Experience running SEO in regulated or sensitive industries where E-E-A-T is critical
