We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Manager of Energy Infrastructure and Projects to lead the planning, execution, and oversight of energy efficiency and clean energy initiatives across a large and diverse facility portfolio. In this role, you will manage capital projects including performance-based energy programs, renewable energy installations, and infrastructure investments aimed at reducing energy consumption and operating costs while supporting long-term sustainability goals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects on time and within scope while ensuring financial accountability and measurable performance outcomes. This includes working closely with engineering consultants, ESCO partners, and internal stakeholders to coordinate project execution and maintain alignment with district priorities.
This position requires a proactive leader who can manage complex projects, navigate cross-functional collaboration, and drive continuous improvement in energy infrastructure. By successfully implementing high-impact energy projects, this role will contribute to long-term cost savings, improved system performance, and the advancement of the district’s sustainability and energy management strategy.
Responsibilities:
Energy Project & Contract Management
- Manage energy projects delivered through performance contracts (ESPC).
- Oversee ESCO partners (e.g., Ameresco, Trane, Honeywell).
- Ensure successful implementation of upgrades like HVAC, lighting, and control systems.
Measurement & Verification
- Track and verify energy savings from projects.
- Maintain reporting for project performance.
- Ensure savings targets are met.
Clean Energy Projects
- Lead renewable and electrification projects (e.g., solar, EV charging).
- Coordinate with utility providers for infrastructure needs.
- Support projects like solar shelters and electric bus charging.
- Plan lifecycle improvements for HVAC and energy systems.
Grants & Funding
- Support federally funded energy projects.
- Assist with compliance, reporting, and coordination.
- Identify new funding and incentive opportunities.
Energy Procurement Strategy
- Explore and expand performance contracting opportunities.
- Evaluate alternative financing models (e.g., Energy-as-a-Service).
- Support long-term energy investment planning.
Project Coordination
- Work with construction teams during project execution and closeout.
- Manage schedules, vendors, and documentation.
- Secure energy rebates when possible.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Energy Management, or related field.
- Experience managing energy or infrastructure projects in large facilities.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, clean energy, and performance contracting.
- Familiarity with public-sector or grant-funded projects.
- Strong project management and coordination skills.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
Pay: $79,529.88 - $100,000.00 per year
