Duties
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and dry dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and ensuring dining areas remain clean and inviting.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and cleaning tools safely and correctly.
- Follow proper manual handling techniques to lift heavy items like pots, pans, and bulk supplies without injury.
- Maintain sanitation standards by regularly cleaning workstations, floors, and storage areas in compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with food safety management practices to ensure all items are stored correctly and hygiene standards are met.
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and sanitation procedures in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with dishwashing, cleaning, bussing, or general kitchen support within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of food handling protocols and basic food preparation skills.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and manual handling tasks.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary staff.
- Familiarity with restaurant or hotel experience is a plus; culinary or catering experience is advantageous but not required.
