DoctorsNow is seeking a dependable and patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to join our clinical team. We are currently considering both full-time and PRN candidates and have an immediate need for qualified applicants.
This position will primarily be based at our Johnston clinic, with regular shifts at our West Des Moines clinic and occasional coverage at our Altoona clinic as needed. Our clinics provide urgent care, primary care, occupational health, workers’ compensation, medical weight loss, and other outpatient services.
This role is ideal for a Radiologic Technologist who enjoys variety, works well in a fast-paced outpatient setting, and is comfortable assisting with both diagnostic imaging and general clinical responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-rays ordered by DoctorsNow providers
- Position patients appropriately and obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Follow radiation safety, infection-control, and patient-identification procedures
- Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation
- Assist with radiology quality-control and regulatory requirements
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medication lists, allergies, and relevant health histories
- Perform blood draws, injections, specimen collection, and in-house laboratory testing as trained
- Assist with occupational-health services, including drug testing, as trained
- Assist providers with patient care, minor procedures, and clinical workflow
- Prepare examination and imaging rooms and maintain appropriate supplies
- Document accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, pharmacies, employers, and outside healthcare organizations
- Support other members of the clinical team as needed
Required Qualifications
- Current Iowa permit to practice as a Radiologic Technologist
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program
- Strong patient-care and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient environment
- Ability to work independently while remaining part of a collaborative team
- Reliable attendance and dependable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous urgent care, primary care, orthopedic, occupational-health, or outpatient-clinic experience
- Experience performing both adult and pediatric X-rays
- Experience with phlebotomy, injections, point-of-care testing, or drug screening
- Experience using an electronic health record
- Availability for some evening and rotating weekend shifts
- Ability to provide coverage at more than one DoctorsNow location when needed
Schedule
DoctorsNow clinics are open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. We are considering both full-time and PRN candidates. Scheduling may include day shifts, evening shifts, rotating weekends, and occasional coverage at multiple clinic locations.
