Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Roll Tender to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing, handling, and managing rolls of paper materials. Your expertise will ensure smooth operation of machinery, precise fabrication, and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities:
- Handle heavy rolls of materials, ensuring proper lifting techniques and safe handling procedures with the assistance of machinery
- Acurately pull and organize rolls for the jobs being run on the sheeting machines
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, tape measures, and other measuring devices to ensure accurate cuts and assembly
- Maintain an organized workspace by cleaning equipment, managing materials, and adhering to safety protocols
- Follow safety standards in production environments, including proper use of safety gear and machine safety features
- Assist in the loading, unloading, and wrapping of materials
- Conduct routine inspections of materials
Skills
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, clamp truck and power tools
- Knowledgeable of safety standards related to heavy lifting, power tool safety, machine operation, and workplace safety protocols
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations
- Familiarity with [paperboard calipers, types and specifications
- Excellent hand tool skills for woodworking or garment construction tasks
- Capable of reading work tickets to pull paper rolls timely to ensure the efficient flow of production

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
