2. Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Driver Recruiter to help grow and maintain our fleet of professional CDL drivers. The Driver Recruiter will be responsible for the full recruitment lifecycle: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring qualified company drivers and/or owner‑operators, while supporting our safety and retention goals.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Source and attract CDL drivers through job boards, social media, referrals, schools, industry events, and other creative channels.
- Manage the full recruiting pipeline: review applications, conduct phone screens, schedule interviews, and guide candidates through each step.
- Promote the company’s pay package, lanes, equipment, and home‑time to prospective drivers and answer questions clearly and honestly.
- Pre‑qualify candidates based on company standards (experience, MVR, DAC, work history, safety record, and eligibility under DOT regulations).
- Coordinate background checks, MVRs, employment verifications, drug screening, and other compliance steps with Safety/HR.
- Work closely with Operations and Safety to understand current and future hiring needs by lane, customer, and equipment type.
- Maintain accurate recruiting metrics, including leads, applications, interviews, offers, hires, and turnover.
- Track and follow up with all applicants to provide timely updates and maintain a positive candidate experience.
- Participate in job fairs, driver events, and school visits to build brand awareness and candidate pipelines.
- Assist with onboarding and orientation for new drivers to ensure a smooth start and handoff to dispatch.
- Support driver retention initiatives, including regular check‑ins during the first 90 days and collaboration with operations on resolving driver issues.
4. Qualifications
Required:
- 1–2+ years of experience in recruiting, driver recruiting, or related transportation/logistics role.
- Strong understanding of CDL driver roles, lifestyle, and common challenges (home time, pay, lanes, equipment).
- Excellent communication and sales skills with the ability to build rapport quickly over the phone, text, and online.
- Ability to multi‑task and manage a high volume of leads in a fast‑paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of DOT / FMCSA requirements and general trucking industry terminology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace and ATS or CRM tools for tracking candidates.
Preferred:
- Experience recruiting OTR / regional CDL‑A drivers for small‑to‑mid size fleets.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Prior hands‑on experience in trucking, dispatch, safety, or operations.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
