Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage nursing staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
- Coordinate care plans involving complex medical procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, ventilator management, and wound care.
- Ensure compliance with nursing policies, infection control protocols, and long-term care regulations across all departments.
- Facilitate communication between multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and case managers to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or Athenahealth while ensuring data integrity.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives related to acute care experience, behavioral health, dementia care, or geriatrics as needed.
- Support staff training on new procedures such as ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, medical imaging interpretation, or advanced life support techniques.
Skills
- Extensive clinical experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; trauma management expertise preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Cerner and eClinicalWorks; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) required.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated supervising experience in nursing management roles.
- Knowledge of hospital medicine practices including ventilator management, tube feeding protocols, and sterile processing techniques.
- Ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments accurately.
- Expertise in managing diverse patient populations including pediatrics, neonatal ventilator care, adult long-term care, and assisted living environments.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and long-term care regulations; experience working within managed care frameworks is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for managerial communication and team coordination; capable of handling complex discharge planning or case management tasks effectively.
