Job Overview
Cozy Cats Hotel in Cary, NC, is seeking dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant/Receptionists to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a genuine love for Cats and a strong desire to provide exceptional care for the Cats and other small pets utilizing our boarding facility. This role involves working closely with various animals, ensuring their well-being, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The Kennel Assistant/Receptionists will also interact with pet owners, providing excellent customer service while fostering a positive experience for both pets and their owners.
You MUST be available to work: Monday - Friday 7 am - 3 pm, Saturday and Sunday 8 am - 2 pm. Approximately 20-25 + hours a week to start. This is a permanent, year round position. Please do not apply if you are not available all of the days required. Opportunity for advancement.
We would prefer someone who lives within 15 minutes of our Cary location at 507 James Jackson Ave, Cary
The position starts at $14 - $15 per hour plus tips depending on experience. Tips average another $2-$3+ an hour. We offer a raise after 90 days and yearly raises after. We offer 1 week paid vacation after 1 year of service.
Duties
- Provide daily care for all the pets, including feeding, medicating and playing with the cats.
- Clean and maintain kennels, ensuring a hygienic and safe environment for all pets.
- Monitor the health and behavior of pets, reporting any concerns to management.
- Assist with the check-in and check-out process for pet owners, providing information about services offered.
- Handle cats of various temperaments with confidence and care.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and any incidents that occur during shifts.
- Engage in customer service interactions, addressing questions or concerns from pet owners.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kennel, animal care, pet sitting, veterinary clinic, or similar environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. Receptionist experience.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, lifting, and bending throughout the day. Ability to lift 50 pounds is required (litter)
- Must be comfortable working with rabbits, ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats and birds.
