Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in commercial, industrial, and renovation environments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical layouts.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete electrical tasks on construction sites or existing facilities.
- Test electrical circuits using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools to ensure proper functionality and safety standards are met.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to support automation projects.
- Follow National Electrical Code (NEC) guidelines to ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with construction teams, frame carpenters, and other trades to coordinate installation schedules and project timelines.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed for accountability and future reference.
Requirements
- Valid journeyman electrician license or equivalent certification; apprentices must be actively enrolled in an approved program.
- Proven experience in industrial or commercial electrical work, including renovation projects on construction sites.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, blueprints, NEC standards, high voltage systems, and low voltage wiring.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; and testing devices like ohmmeters.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable.
- Ability to read technical schematics accurately and interpret construction drawings effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with handyman experience for versatile troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to high voltage (HV) systems and renovation environments.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks on construction sites—standing for long periods, lifting heavy materials, working at heights if needed.
