Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Interim System Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to provide executive leadership for both acute care and retail pharmacy operations. This role is responsible for overseeing daily pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading pharmacy personnel, and driving two major strategic initiatives: expansion of the ambulatory infusion program and optimization of the 340B drug pricing program through a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) software implementation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license (or eligibility for immediate licensure through reciprocity)
- Eligible to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) upon hire
- Minimum 5 years of hospital pharmacy leadership experience (Director or Assistant Director level) in an acute care setting
- Proven experience managing a 340B Program, including at least one complete TPA software implementation
- Experience leading the development or expansion of a sterile compounding ambulatory infusion center
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for hospital and retail pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Lead daily pharmacy operations, including staffing, scheduling, performance management, and mentorship of pharmacists and technicians.
- Oversee pharmacy budgets, formulary management, inventory control, and drug utilization while partnering with the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.
- Ensure compliance with USP <795>, USP <797>, and USP <800> standards for sterile and non-sterile compounding.
- Lead implementation of a new 340B TPA software platform, including EHR integration, split-billing validation, NDC mapping, contract pharmacy expansion, and audit readiness.
- Direct the expansion of ambulatory infusion services by collaborating with clinical, facilities, engineering, finance, and compliance teams to optimize workflows, regulatory compliance, and reimbursement processes.
- Monitor operational performance and provide leadership updates on project milestones, pharmacy productivity, regulatory readiness, and budget performance.
