First Tee – Colorado Rocky Mountains is seeking a motivated individual with strong organizational and communication skills to lead our volunteer program and build and manage relationships with community partners. First Tee – Colorado Rocky Mountains is a non-profit youth development organization whose mission is to impact and inspire youth academically, socially, and physically through the game of golf. We create and deliver innovative programs that reinforce life skills and academics during fun, interactive golf lessons.
The Community Outreach Coordinator will play a key role in strengthening the organization’s presence throughout the community by supporting volunteers and cultivating partnerships with golf courses, schools, and other youth-serving organizations.
Position Summary
This position will have two main responsibilities, managing the volunteer program for the organization and growing and maintaining relationships with other community partners. In addition to these main duties, as an employee of a non-profit, everyone is expected to help with other administrative and operational tasks including but not limited to: fundraising, event planning, donor stewardship, data management, customer service, and working with a Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Management
- Create a positive and engaging volunteer experience
- Consistently communicate with volunteers, build relationships with volunteers, and act as the main liaison between the organization and volunteers
- Present available opportunities to volunteers and manage schedule
- Recruit, train, and on-board volunteers and conduct monthly volunteer orientations
- Recognize volunteers for their service by planning appreciation events and distributing gifts based on volunteer hours
Community Partnerships
- Build and maintain relationships with golf courses and community partners
- Identify and develop partnerships with golf courses and youth-serving organizations to expand programming opportunities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for partner organizations and provide administrative assistance
- Attend community events and represent First Tee – Colorado Rocky Mountains professionally
- Help identify opportunities for program growth and collaboration throughout the community
Previous Experience
Ideal areas of previous experience:
- Experience working with youth especially in a coaching environment
- Experience managing schedules
- Experience organizing groups of people and assigning tasks
- Experience planning events
- Experience conducting trainings
Education Qualifications
High-school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant experience will be taken into account in lieu of education.
Traits/Skills
This position requires the following computer skills:
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and similar productivity software
- Ability to accurately enter and track data in various databases
- Ability to set up and conduct virtual meetings using Zoom and Microsoft Teams
- Ability to communicate clearly through email
- Ability to conduct online searches and use basic online platforms and browsers

- Comfortable speaking with volunteers, community leaders, and families
- Passion for youth development and community engagement
- Experience with volunteer coordination, relationship management, nonprofit work, or event coordination preferred
- Golf knowledge is helpful but not required
