Job Summary
Jim Johnson Hyundai is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Service Writer/Service Advisor to join our growing service team. The Service Writer serves as the primary liaison between customers and the service department, ensuring customers receive exceptional service while maintaining efficient communication between technicians, parts personnel and customers.
Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Automotive Technician, Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Server, Retail Manager, or Customer Service Professional is strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally.
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues and service requests.
- Schedule service appointments and manage service lane traffic.
- Prepare repair orders and obtain customer authorization for repairs.
- Communicate recommended maintenance and repair needs to customers.
- Monitor repair progress and provide customers with timely updates.
- Coordinate with technicians and parts personnel to ensure efficient repair completion.
- Review completed repairs with customers and explain services performed.
- Calculate charges, process payments and close repair orders.
- Handle customer concerns and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
- Maintain accurate customer records and service documentation.
- Educate customers regarding vehicle maintenance schedules, warranty coverage and dealership services.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships to promote customer retention.
- Meet customer satisfaction and service sales goals established by management.
- Follow all dealership policies, procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership management software.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
