Pay: $16.00–$17.00/hr + tip pool
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring Back of House Team Members to join a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. This role is responsible for executing recipes with consistency, maintaining kitchen organization, and supporting both in-store and catering operations. This is a cross-trained position including line, prep, and dish responsibilities as needed.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is opening a new location in Novi, MI in late May / early June and is actively hiring to build our opening team.All team members will begin training at our West Bloomfield location (one of our sister stores) prior to opening. Training will take place for approximately 1–3 weeks, after which team members will transition to the Novi location for the grand opening and ongoing operations. Candidates must be available to train in West Bloomfield before the Novi location opens.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
- Execute food preparation including cutting, chopping, portioning, and marinating
- Maintain speed and accuracy during peak service periods
- Support execution of catering orders with proper prep and timing
- Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets quality standards
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked stations
- Follow proper food storage, labeling, and rotation procedures
- Complete daily prep, cleaning, and closing tasks
SYSTEMS & INVENTORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all prep builds and recipes as written (no freelancing)
- Accurately complete prep lists and communicate low inventory
- Support inventory accuracy through proper portioning and storage
- Follow waste procedures and report any product issues
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred
- Ability to work with urgency in a high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Willingness to be cross-trained across BOH positions
- Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Weekend and peak-hour availability required
- Willingness to support other locations as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment
