Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Dermatology Physician Assistant to join our vibrant healthcare team. In this role, you will provide expert dermatological care, assist with clinical procedures, and support patient education in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and vital signs to determine dermatological conditions.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Educate patients on skin health, treatment options, post-procedure care, and lifestyle modifications to promote optimal outcomes.
- Support clinical research initiatives by collecting data, managing medical records, and assisting with clinical trials related to dermatology innovations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for complex cases involving acute pain management or comorbid conditions such as infectious disease or geriatrics.
Requirements
- Valid Physician Assistant license with certification in dermatology or relevant specialty preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in outpatient dermatology clinics or esthetic laser treatments is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner; telehealth experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques specific to dermatology.
- Ability to perform skin biopsies and other minor surgical interventions confidently.
- Experience with CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medical records management.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on patient assessment, intake procedures, and vital signs monitoring.
- Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and safety standards are met.
- Critical care experience or hospital medicine background is advantageous for managing complex cases involving acute or emergency dermatological conditions. Pay: $66,486.42 - $150,000.00 per year
