Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Special Education Paraprofessional specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing direct behavioral therapy and support to children with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, in various settings such as home, school, or clinical environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in implementing individualized care plans, collecting behavioral data, and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), all while fostering a positive and supportive environment for clients. Duties
- Implement evidence-based ABA therapy protocols under the supervision of licensed behavior analysts to promote skill acquisition and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, feeding, toileting, and other essential self-care tasks.
- Collect accurate behavioral data during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Support the development and execution of individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs and goals.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and behavioral records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, educators, and healthcare professionals regarding progress and any behavioral concerns.
- Support clients during school-based or home-based interventions, ensuring consistency across environments.
- Adhere to professional ethical standards outlined by the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts.
- Assist in managing behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Participate in ongoing training related to applied behavior analysis, medical terminology, and behavior health best practices.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children, especially those with autism spectrum disorders or neurodevelopmental disabilities.
- Strong understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and implementation of ABA therapy protocols.
- Ability to assist with ADLs and support clients in developing independence skills.
- Skilled in data collection methods for behavioral health assessments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation standards such as HIPAA compliance.
- Experience working in school settings or home-based environments supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and family engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to follow care plans meticulously while maintaining ethical standards.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies aimed at promoting positive client outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team focused on behavioral health.
