Position Overview
The GSE Technician will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on all airport ground support equipment, vehicles, and other related equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rebuild, repair, and provide preventive maintenance on airport ground support equipment, vehicles, and other related equipment
- Ensure Northeast Air's Fuel Farm remains operational and in compliance with all local, state, and federal compliance regulations
- Ensure daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual inspections are completed and documented as required
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to help NEA attain corporate goals
Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/Equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical
- Reside in Maine and be in commute distance to the Portland area
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written in the English Language
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Knowledge of industry compliance safety rules, regulations, procedures, and applicable laws
- Experience with hydraulics and electrical equipment
- Basic knowledge of gas and diesel engines
- Knowledge of frame, chassis, and suspension systems
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and understand schematics.
- 2 years of experience with aviation ground support equipment preferred
- Ability to understand ground support equipment manuals
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, move items of 75lbs or more on a regular basis
- Ability to lift weights of 40 to 50lbs on raised surfaces
- Ability to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods
- Ability to work in cramped or high places
- May be exposed to wide variety of weather conditions, jet machinery noises, fumes, dirt, and dust for extended periods of time
- Employees will be required to provide all basic hand/ power tools to perform their daily tasks
