PART TIME AVAILABILITY WEDNESDAYS 9AM-5PM, FRIDAYS 8AM-4PM AND IF DESIRED EVERY OTHER MONDAY 9AM-5PM
Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote oral health.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and dental examinations.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using advanced dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their understanding of dental health.
- Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EMR systems) accurately by documenting treatment notes, medical records, and procedural details in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain infection prevention protocols by sterilizing dental instruments, managing infection control procedures, and adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Operate dental equipment safely and effectively while troubleshooting minor technical issues as needed.
- Support the dental team with chairside assisting during various procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA privacy standards and documentation review processes.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix for scheduling, billing, and record management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding to facilitate accurate documentation.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable for working effectively with young patients.
- Expertise in infection prevention management and healthcare infection control practices to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Excellent client communication skills to educate patients clearly about their oral health needs.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for efficient documentation review and management.
- Knowledge of dental equipment operation including sterilization tools, digital imaging devices, and chairside assisting techniques.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance management to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $41.00 - $47.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
