This Is a Hospitality Position
At Narrow Path, we believe the experience surrounding the wine should be every bit as thoughtful as the wine itself.
Our guests remember the wines they loved, but they also remember someone knowing their name. A recommendation that turned out to be exactly right. An unexpected taste of something special. A conversation that made them feel welcomed into our winery rather than processed through a tasting room.
That is the kind of hospitality we want to provide, and we're looking for someone who wants to build a career doing it.
About Narrow Path
Narrow Path Winery is a small, family-owned winery producing wines from our estate vineyard and select Texas-grown grapes.
We intentionally operate differently from many high-volume tasting rooms. Our goal isn't to move as many people as possible through the door. We want guests to slow down, learn something, enjoy themselves, and leave feeling like their visit mattered.
Because we're small, every person on our team has an outsized impact on that experience. There aren't layers of management between you and the guest. You'll be trusted to pay attention, make decisions, solve problems, and find opportunities to make someone's visit better.
What the Job Actually Is
You'll pour wine, wash glasses, stock shelves, answer phones, process sales, reset tables, and move plenty of wine cases.
But the real work is paying attention.
Some guests want to learn. Some want to celebrate. Some want a recommendation, and some just want a quiet glass of wine. Good hospitality means recognizing the difference and responding well.
Over time, you'll get to know our regulars, understand what they enjoy, and learn how to make a visit feel personal without making it feel scripted.
What You'll Learn
You don't need to be a wine expert. You do need to want to learn.
You'll gain experience in:
- Wine tasting and sensory evaluation
- Texas wine, grapes, and winemaking
- Food and wine pairing
- Direct-to-consumer sales
- Wine club relationships
- Events and private tastings
- POS and reservation systems
- The business of running a small winery
Because we're small, you'll see far more than the tasting room. You'll work alongside the people growing the grapes, making the wine, managing the club, and running the business.
What We're Looking For
Experience helps. Attitude matters more.
We're looking for someone who:
- Genuinely enjoys taking care of people
- Pays attention to details
- Takes ownership
- Reads the room well
- Communicates naturally
- Stays composed when we're busy
- Wants to learn
- Wants more responsibility over time
Sales are part of the job, but we don't want guests to feel like they're being sold to. Learn what they like, make good recommendations, and let good hospitality do the rest.
A Few Practical Things
This is a full-time position, and Saturday and Sunday availability is required, along with some holidays and occasional evenings.
You'll spend much of the day on your feet, move cases of wine, use our POS and reservation systems, and follow all TABC and food safety requirements.
Where This Can Lead
We're looking for someone who sees hospitality as a career, not just a shift.
As you develop, there are opportunities to grow into wine education, events, wine club management, sales, tasting room leadership, and broader winery operations.
We're small enough that good people don't get lost in the organization. When you're ready for more responsibility, there's room to take it on.
Why Narrow Path?
You'll work closely with the people growing the grapes, making the wine, and running the winery.
You'll learn the business from the inside, develop real wine knowledge, and have the freedom to take care of guests without following a script.
If you want to get very good at hospitality, this is a good place to do it.
