About the Position
The Manufacturing Operations Manager will provide leadership for day-to-day production activities, partnering with supervisors and cross-functional departments to maintain operational excellence. This role requires a hands-on leader capable of balancing people development, process improvement, and performance management in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership

Direct manufacturing activities to ensure production schedules and operational targets are achieved

Oversee workflow across multiple shifts and departments

Promote efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and resources

Support production planning efforts to maximize output and customer satisfaction
Safety & Quality Excellence

Champion workplace safety initiatives and reinforce compliance with company policies

Promote a culture where product quality and food safety remain top priorities

Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal quality standards

Partner with quality teams to address issues and implement preventive measures
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and operational performance

Lead process improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste and increasing throughput

Utilize performance metrics to evaluate results and drive decision-making

Support implementation of Lean principles and best manufacturing practices
Team Development

Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and production personnel

Foster accountability, engagement, and professional growth across the workforce

Assist with workforce planning, staffing needs, and employee performance management

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime

Coordinate with supply chain, quality, and operational departments to support production goals

Qualifications
Successful candidates will typically bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred-
5 or more years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment

Previous experience in food production or consumer packaged goods manufacturing strongly preferred

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational excellence principles

Understanding of GMPs, food safety programs, sanitation requirements, and regulatory compliance

Experience managing production teams across multiple shifts

Strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making abilities

Ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into action plans
