Work with Novel English as a remote high school English Language Arts teacher and inspire the next generation of thinkers, writers, and communicators!
We are looking for an experienced high school English educator to join our team teaching literature and literary analysis to students in grades 9–12. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Adolescent Education with a concentration in English Language Arts.
Teachers will follow an established curriculum while bringing their own teaching style, energy, and creativity to each session. You should be equally comfortable working with advanced learners and students below grade level — a genuine ability to meet diverse needs is essential.
Above all, we're looking for someone who loves literature, loves writing, and genuinely loves working with teenagers.
Special Education certification is a plus, as is familiarity with differentiated instruction.
Responsibilities:
- Teach year-long weekly courses that meet on a consistent day and time each week
- Review and prepare lesson plans ahead of each session
- Deliver 50-minute live classes to groups of 3–10 learners
- Grade and provide feedback on essays and projects
- Manage communication with students and families
Requirements:
- Master's in Adolescent Education, ELA concentration (required)
- Special Ed certification (a plus)
- Confident, experienced educator
- Must be comfortable and willing to appear on camera for all sessions
- Must be available for scheduling within the following window: Monday–Friday, 11am–9pm EST and/or Saturday mornings. Teachers are assigned a small number of recurring time slots — you will not be expected to teach for the full window.
- Available to start mid-September 2026
- Candidates must pass a background check.
Compensation & Hours: This is an independent contractor position. $32–$40/hour based on experience. Hours vary based on student enrollments.

- Teach an introductory lesson on your favorite novel as though students are in the room
- Address students directly and show us how you make a lesson interactive

Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
