STM Construction is seeking a hands-on Superintendent to oversee day-to-day operations on new construction commercial and multi-family projects, primarily roofing and plumbing scopes. This person will manage active job sites across Eastern NC, purchase and coordinate materials, and serve as the primary quality control check for scope of work performed, ensuring every job is completed on schedule, on budget, and to code. A company vehicle is provided for travel between job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
-Oversee daily operations on assigned new construction commercial and multi-family job sites from start to close-out.
-Travel to job sites across Eastern NC as needed; company vehicle provided. -Purchase materials for jobs, working with supply houses to get correct quantities, pricing, and delivery timing.
- Perform quality control inspections to confirm work performed matches the approved scope, plans, and specifications. Coordinate and schedule crews, subcontractors, and material deliveries to keep jobs on track.
- Identify and resolve field issues, delays, or code deficiencies before they affect the schedule or budget.
- Communicate daily job status, material needs, and any scope changes to management. Maintain accurate job documentation, including daily logs, material tickets, and punch lists. -Walk completed work with clients, GCs, or inspectors as needed to obtain sign-off.
Requirements:
- 1-3+ years of experience in commercial roofing, plumbing, or general construction supervision.
-Working knowledge of commercial roofing and/or plumbing systems, materials, and installation practices.
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work.
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities at once. -Comfortable ordering and tracking materials, and managing supplier relationships.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (company vehicle provided for travel to job sites across Eastern NC). Willingness to travel regularly between job sites throughout the Eastern NC region.
-Strong communication skills, both with crews in the field and management in the office.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Prior experience in a lead, foreman, or superintendent role on new construction commercial or multi-family projects.
-Familiarity with local building codes and inspection processes.
Physical Requirements:
-Ability to visit active job sites, climb ladders, and access roofs as needed.
-Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
-Ability to lift materials and equipment as required on site.
Job Type & Compensation: Full-time. Compensation commensurate with experience.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
