Position Summary
We are seeking a software engineer to join our engineering team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone who is eager to contribute to the full software development lifecycle in a regulated medical environment. You will work on production-level software used in clinical and research settings, gaining exposure to both desktop and web-based application development.
Your Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer I, you will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including:
- Creating detailed software design specifications
- Implementing new features and maintaining existing functionality
- Participating in formal design and code reviews
- Performing software verification and validation activities
- Supporting risk management processes for medical devices
- Maintaining technical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including hardware, QA, technical support, and clinical specialists
You will work with a variety of languages, frameworks, and technologies, such as:
- C++
- Python
- Typescript
- Angular
- Windows application development with Visual Studio
- AWS Services (S3, EC2, RDS, etc.)
- MS SQL and Postgres databases
- Web Servers (e.g. Apache and Nginx)
- Machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, Tensorflow, ONNX)
- Digital Signal Processing
- Enterprise issue-tracking and collaborative editing systems (JIRA and Confluence)
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Experience with any of the listed languages or frameworks
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git)
- Understanding of basic networking, cloud concepts, or UI development
