Job Summary:
The Filer is a full-time position located in the Sawmill at the New London, NH location at Durgin and Crowell Lumber Co. Inc. The Saw Filer is to file, maintain and repair saws while keeping safe. The operating hours are Monday- Friday 5:30 am - 3:30pm, however, hours of operation may change based on production needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- File saws, according to specifications, using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment.
- Inspect saw for defects such as missing spots, cracks, and bent teeth.
- Responsible for keeping up with the flow of production
- Keeps workspace and surroundings clean and neat to foster productivity and efficiency
- Conduct activities in a safe manner, follow corporate safety guidelines and requirements, use personal protective equipment, and proactively address any unsafe conditions observed
- Other duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) (Preferred)
- Equipment Operating Experience ( Preferred)
- Sawmill experience (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move to reach the machinery.
- Must be able to inspect machines visually.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and all-weather conditions.
- Walking on slippery or uneven surfaces from time to time.
- Hearing protection is required in certain areas of the facility.
- Buildings and grounds are non-smoking except in designated smoking areas.
