Location: Across the United States and unanticipated locations throughout the U.S., based on business requirements.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze and interpret complex project requirements to establish early-stage manufacturing process targets, feasibility studies, and execution strategies.
- Lead in-house process planning activities considering Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Manufacturing Efficiency parameters.
- Develop, implement, and maintain detailed Operation Plans (OP) covering in-house processes, tooling development, robotic applications, and vendor activities.
- Drive tooling specification creation, tooling validation, fixture approval, and manufacturing readiness activities.
- Coordinate cross-functional engineering activities with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Production Engineering, and Supplier teams to ensure program milestones are achieved.
- Conduct process validation and support prototype vehicle builds at prototype vendor locations and PD Weld/Paint lines.
- Perform advanced body structure analysis, dimensional accuracy verification, and root cause investigations for welding and assembly issues.
- Lead process tracking activities and implement corrective actions to resolve tooling, process, vendor, and build quality concerns.
- Review and approve robotic offline programming activities for manufacturing process optimization.
- Support welded sub-assembly verification, N&P checks, fixture calibration, dimensional control, and body accuracy validation.
- Attend supplier facilities to review critical parts, tooling readiness, fixture quality, and manufacturing capability prior to shipment.
- Chair technical review meetings and provide regular project status updates to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing efficiency, tooling robustness, weld quality, and process capability.
- Support overlapping engineering activities requiring strong multitasking and program management capability.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Weld Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience supporting Toyota vehicle programs in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Prototype Development (PD), Design Engineering, or Quality Engineering environments.

Strong technical expertise in:

- Body-in-White (BIW) manufacturing processes
- Welding and painting process planning
- Automotive body structure development
- Tooling design, validation, and manufacturing processes
- Robotic manufacturing systems and process integration

Advanced knowledge of:

- Body dimensional accuracy systems
- Fixture design and validation
- Model set and part scanning methodologies
- GD&T interpretation and dimensional analysis

Proficiency in:

- CATIA / CARROT 3D CAD systems
- Robot Offline Programming
- Manufacturing process simulation tools
- Strong communication, organizational, technical reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to coordinate with TMC, suppliers, manufacturing plants, affiliates, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Demonstrated capability to mentor junior engineers and support technical skill development.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s Degree in Engineering.

Experience in:

- PolyWorks
- Laser Screw Welding (LSW)
- Self-Piercing Rivets (SPR)
- Prototype manufacturing operations
- Advanced welding technologies
- Exposure to Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering domains.
- Completion of TBP with Panel and JKK certification preferred.

Additional Requirements

- Travel and/or relocation may be required.
- Frequency of travel approximately 10% per year.
- Domestic travel and relocation to unanticipated locations throughout the United States may be required based on business needs.
- International travel is not required.
- Incidental telecommuting may apply.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, based on project requirements.
