Commercial Business Development Account Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW
GerrityStone is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Commercial Business Development Account Manager to spearhead the growth of our commercial business lines. This role is critical to expanding our footprint across key commercial segments and delivering GerrityStone’s reputation for precision craftsmanship and premium stone products to a broader client base. The ideal candidate brings a consultative sales approach, strong industry knowledge, and a proven track record of building lasting client relationships across the commercial account spectrum.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Customer Acquisition
● Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities by leveraging GerrityStone’s internal database, industry directories, trade publications, and networking events.
● Conduct targeted outreach to prospective clients across priority commercial segments including multi-family residential, hospitality, millwork, tenant fit-up, and property management.
● Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from initial prospecting through contract award.
Client Relationship Management & Retention
● Develop and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers including developers, general contractors, interior designers, architects, and property managers.
● Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial accounts, ensuring exceptional service and responsiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
● Implement strategic account retention programs to maximize repeat business and expand share of wallet within existing accounts.
Estimating, Quoting & Value Engineering
● Collaborate closely with GerrityStone’s in-house estimating team to develop detailed, accurate, and competitive project quotes.
● Conduct follow-up meetings and presentations with clients to review proposals and explore value engineering opportunities—recommending material alternatives and optimized service solutions to close deals and strengthen margins.
● Maintain thorough records of all quotes, correspondence, and project activity within the CRM system.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
● Monitor commercial construction pipelines, permit activity, and industry trends to identify emerging opportunities ahead of competitors.
● Provide regular reporting to the Director of Commercial Business Development on pipeline status, activity metrics, wins/losses, and competitive intelligence.
● Represent GerrityStone at trade shows, industry association events, and networking functions to elevate brand presence in the commercial market.
TARGET MARKET SEGMENTS
● Multi-Family Residential – Apartment complexes, condominiums, and mixed-use developments
● Hospitality – Hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues
● Millwork – Custom cabinetry shops and millwork fabricators requiring stone integration
● Tenant Fit-Up – Commercial office, retail, and healthcare interior buildouts
● Property Management – Renovation and replacement programs for managed residential and commercial portfolios
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
● 3+ years of B2B sales, business development experience, or other customer facing roles preferably in the construction, building materials, or stone/surfaces industry.
● Demonstrated success managing a commercial sales pipeline and achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present confidently to contractors, developers, and design professionals.
● Self-motivated and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.
● Proficiency with CRM software and standard business productivity tools (Microsoft Office, etc.).
Preferred
● Existing relationships within the New England commercial construction or design community.
● Familiarity with natural stone, quartz, porcelain, or related countertop/surface products.
● Knowledge of the commercial estimating or takeoff process.
● Experience with value engineering conversations in a material supply context.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
